About Me
Hello! I am Sasha and I am 11 years old. I started this site when I was 10 because I love horses and I would like to share my passion for them to the world. I have met lot's of horses and go horse riding at Avonlea Farm Riding in Darlington Western Australia. I ride a pony called Herbie and he's the best!
The first pony I learned to ride on was Salty, and I really miss him. When we went to Margaret River, WA, I rode a pony called Summer on a trail ride. We came back again to Margaret River and we stayed at Losari Retreat and there was also a riding centre there called Naturally Horsey, owned by Sally Clayton. First we did Natural Horsemanship and then we went for a trail ride. We walked and trotted through water and then I cantered for the first time. It was so fun! all the water was splashing up and I really enjoyed it. The pony I rode was Phantom, and he was black.
I write books, lot's of books. I write them on my tiny Asus laptop and normally I write them about horses. I am writing a series called Whitebrook Valley . It's about a young girl who follows her mother's dream to run a horse ranch in Canada and to train horses there. She has a love of Show Jumping and she soon competes.
In 2008
We are traveling for 6 months all over the world and I have met 3 horses that I rode. They are Tom Thumb, (Scotland), William, (France), and Geronimo, (Canada). Tom Thumb was very cute, and when we were always going down steep hills on the trail ride he would trot.
I rode William twice and I also got to ride him bareback. The first day he was dirty, but the second day he was REALLY dirty, and I had to brush him. But I really enjoyed it, because I got to help out with the horses. I did things like mucking out stables and grooming, making the feed and putting horses in paddocks. I remember leading Rubin, a Shetland pony, to his paddock. He always wanted to trot. Geronimo was the first Appaloosa I have ridden. He was very good, except he always wanted to eat grass. That was also the first time I had rode Western. Western is fun, but I like English more.
I had heaps of fun!
I have also seen some breeds of horses that I've always wanted to see on this trip. They were Andalusians, Haflingers, and Friesians. Andalusians are Spanish, Haflingers are Austrian and Friesians are Dutch.
This site celebrates the love of horses, and I hope you enjoy it.
